Priyal Gor will play a loveable Naagin to entertain kids

The title role of Icchapyaari Naagin is played by Priyal Gor. The show will show a cute Naagin unlike the usual naagins shown on TV shows. This show targets kids and is more in the fantasy genre. Incidentally, Naagin on Colors was also loved by kids and that was the reason the show got highest TRPs.

Cashing in on the success of the Naagin, SAB TV has come with its version of the Icchadhari Naagin. In the mean time, Ekta Kapoor is also getting ready with Naagin season 2 on Colors this Diwali with Mouni Roy and some new faces. The Naagin has been a hit formula not just on TV but in films as well. In 1954, the Vyjayanthimala - Bharat Bhushan starrer Naagin came birth to the formula. Later, in 1976, producer Rajkumar Kohli made Naagin with Reena Roy that was a blockbuster. We love the 1986 flick Nagina with Sridevi's iconic dance moves. There was a sequel Nigahein in 1989.

On TV, Naagin made a debut in 2009 with Sayantani Ghosh as the Icchadhari Naagin that becomes a Bahu to avenge her parents' killers. Later on, this formula was successfully adapted in Sasural Simar Ka with Sara Khan as Naagin. But the biggest success on TV was Ekta Kapoor's Naagin that started in 2016 and finished its first season this year. The show made Mouni Roy, Adaa Khan and Arjun Bijlani overnight stars. While shows like Vishkanya and Adhuri Kahaani Hamari tanked on the TRP charts, TV show makers are still banking on the serpent maidens. Many variations of the Naagins are coming. Priyal looks cute as Icchapyaari Naagin but it remains to be seen if viewers can digest more reptilian drama.
