Tamil Superstar Rajnikant’s daughter Soundarya married long time boyfriend Ashwin Ramkumar in a traditional Tamilian Brahmin ceremony today (3rd September, 2010). Soundarya, the CEO of Ochre productions, got engaged to Stanford graduate Ashwin earlier in February this year.

The grand wedding began at 7.30 a.m. in the Rani Meyyammani Hall, Chennai, and had almost 3000 guests attending. Rajnikanth and wife Lata graciously received their guests. Rajnikant was his usual simple self, clad in a white shirt and dhoti. He later tied on an orange turban for the rituals.

Inevitably, the wedding had many high-profile guests. Sridevi, Boney Kapoor,Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (his 'Robot' co-star)attended the function. Kamal Hassan joined the celebration of his long-time associate.

Political bigwigs like Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi, Home Minister P. Chidambaram and many ruling DMK ministers blessed the newly married couple. Around 5000 guests are expected for the reception later.
