Salman Khan's 'Dabangg', the much hyped action flick looks set to become this year's biggest blockbuster, opening to an earth shattering start, both at the single screens as well as multiplexes.

The first day saw 'Dabangg' netting 13 crore plus across India which is the all time first Friday record of '3 Idiots'! The equation may change further as more collections pour in.

Not only that with 'Eid' and 'Ganesh Chaturthi' holiday today followed by Sunday, 'Dabangg' is likely to break the 38 crore weekend record of '3 Idiots' as as well.

It may be recalled that '3 Idiots' had netted 41 crores including Thursday paid previews and 38 crore from Friday to Sunday.

To its credit, 'Dabangg' has no other names except Salman Khan while in case of '3 Idiots' it was directed by Munnbhai fame Hirani and had known names like Kareena Kapoor, Madhavan and also the quite popular Boman Irani.
