Yash Raj Distributors, the Overseas distributor of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Black' (2005), released the film in Korea on 28th August in as many as 180 screens. This was one of the biggest releases for a non-Korean or non-Hollywood film.

'Black' had the biggest opening among new releases and was ahead of new film releases from Hollywood.

It debuted at the third place. The first two spots were taken by Korean blockbusters 'Take-Off' and 'Haeundae' respectively.
