Rajkot, Sept 23 (PTI) Film producer Ram Gopal Varma has been slapped on with a legal notice for allegedly 'promoting' blind faith in his latest movie "Phoonk". Chairman of NGO Bharat Jan Vigyan Jatha, Jayant Pandya, has served the notice to Varma for "cheating people by claiming that the film cannot be seen sitting alone in the theatre and promoting blind faith".

Varma had announced a reward of Rs five lakh to anyone who watches the full movie sitting alone in the theatre.

Pandya said when he accepted the challenge, the film producer said the reward scheme was limited to theatres in Mumbai only, which proves that Varma was cheating people by such publicity stunts.

The theme is also misleading and it shows the victory of a tantrik over a doctor, Pandya said, adding the film can be seen alone in theatre but it is foolish to watch such a movie.
