Celebrating their icon's latest release, die-hard Rajni fans performed poojas to his giant cutouts outside theatres and burst crackers, as they had been eagerly awaiting the release of the film, which was two years in the making.

Starring Aishwarya Rai and Danny Denzongpa among others, the film is touted to be one of the most expensive ventures in Indian cinema, with producer Kalanithi Maran launching an aggressive marketing blitzkrieg to promote it.
