A few days ago, a Goregaon (Mumbai suburb) colony witnessed high drama, courtesy an Ford Endeavour smeared in blood.
As it turned out in the end, the whole thing was a false alarm and was a film unit car, which was being used for his film 'Payback'. When we asked Karande, he mentioned, "We were shooting on a flyover near Attria Mall in Worli. After pack-up I bought the car home, thinking it would be safe in the colony as I needed it for further scenes. I had informed the night watchman, who forgot to mention it to his colleague who came on the morning shift." The drama had begun around 8am and by the time Sachin woke up it was 10am and a huge crowd had already gathered in the colony along with a huge group of policemen. "I had switched my phone on silent mode as I had come back home at 5am from the shoot and when I got up I was surprised to see 20 missed calls from my executive producer, who then informed me to go down and check out the commotion. One of the residents had called the police control room telling about the car details and thinking a politician was killed and the killer had dumped the car in their colony and run away" said Karande. When Sachin finally managed to tell the cops about the film shooting, he was immediately summoned to the police station with all proofs and the car was seized till then. Sachin had to go to the police station with the whole unit along with the original documents. A case of negligence was registered on them and they were fined Rs. 30,000 before the vehicle was released. Well shooting for films is not easy we say brother, take care next time.
