The shooting of Bollywood movie 'Agent Vinod' starring Saif Ali Khan has remained stalled at a village in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district for the past three-four days after the district administration imposed a ban on the project, officials said Friday.

The shooting was to take place at Kuldhara village in Jaisalmer, some 600 km from Jaipur, but on complaints of possible tampering with this archeologically important location, the administration decided to impose the ban, a senior officer said.

A myth that Brahmins had cursed this village before leaving it over 250 years back has made this village popular as a ghost town. With no one living in the houses of the village, the place is visited by tourists from all over the globe.

Jaisalmer District Collector M.P. Swami said that they had received complaints of tampering with the site following which the permission for shooting was cancelled.

He added that there are complaints of the colour of houses in the village having been changed by the shooting crew and other tampering.

"A fact finding team from the archeological department has visited the village and will soon submit a report," said the officer.

Sources said some scenes of movie’s climax were to be shot at Kuldhara village.
