´Dostana´ : Yash Raj´s Carrot To Save ´Roadside Romeo´!
- Abid           Let us know what you think about this story

Now that 'Roadside Romeo' has not done well at the box-office, the multiplexes are once again having the last laugh at the expense of Yash Raj Films.

Aditya Chopra, in a bid to have an over-saturated release for his animation film, had booked it last week at almost every multiplex in every city. Several multiplexes had feared, there wouldn’t be such a large audience for the film which would qualify as an experimental one, given the underdeveloped market for animation films in India. Why, some multiplexes did not either want to play the film or wanted to screen it in a far lesser number of shows than the producer wanted.

As a carrot, Yash Raj Films reminded the unrelenting multiplex owners about the forthcoming 'Dostana' which Yash Raj is distributing. Since 'Dostana' is a highly anticipated film, especially for the multiplex audience, the multiplex owners had no option but to do what Aditya Chopra wanted them to do – screen 'Roadside Romeo' in extra number of shows.

But with 'Golmaal Returns' and 'Fashion' releasing mid-week (on 29th October) to take advantage of 'Diwali' and with 'Roadside Romeo' not having worked well, the multiplexes have quite happily reduced the shows of 'Roadside Romeo' quite drastically after five days.
