Suniel Shetty as a Naxalite wins the Best Actor Award at South Asian International Film Festival in New York!

Star Entertainment P Ltd 'Red Alert – The War Within', directed by Ananth Mahadevan, is already making headlines and waves because of its depiction of reality about Naxalism.

And, it’s not just stopping at that. The film has won quite a few laurels already! For instance, the leading protoganist, Suniel Shetty, has his first Best Actor Award at the South Asian Film Festival (SAIFF) held in New York, where it competed with some of the best international movies.

That’s not all! The film, premiered at Stuttgart, has been bestowed with a five star rating by German Critics and also won The Director’s Vision Award!

The film is an emotional adventure of a man and touches the issue of Naxalism with realism and sensitivity. 'Red Alert – The War Within' is based on the true real life story of Siaram Kavalsingh (Sunil Shetty), a reluctant convert who worked with the Naxals., he finds himself in the midst of naxalite movement, forced to make difficult, and morally questionable, choices.

'Red Alert – The War Within', which represents new age cinema in Bollywood is produced by Star Entertainment's T P Agarwal and Rahul Agarwal.

What has appealed to the international cinema critics is its brutal honesty and international standards. Proving this is Galen Rosenthal, Head of programming for SAIFF, who said about the film, “We would very much like to have the North American Premiere of “RED ALERT: THE WAR WITHIN. We absolutely love your film and honoured to screen it.”

After the world premiere, the film will also have an Asian premiere at the prestigious India international Film Festival to be held in Goa this November.

The film also has an enthralling ensemble of actors. Suneil Shetty,Sameera Reddy, Seema Biswas, Naseeruddin Shah,Vinod Khanna, Ayesha Dharker, Ashish Vidyarthi, Gulshan Grover and Bhagyashree.
