Britney admits she married "for wrong reasons"

The 26-year-old actress had married dancer Federline in September 2004 and gave birth to their first son Sean Preston exactly a year later.

"I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of everything," she revealed in her upcoming documentary 'For The Record'.

Britney's marriage came just nine months after her first marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander, which was annulled after 55 hours, the Dailymail said.

The singer stunned Federline by filing for divorced in November 2006, just two months after the birth of their second son Jayden James.

The next two years following her divorce proved tumultuous for the singer as she progressed from hard-partying to a session in rehab to shaving her head and was hospitalised twice for psychiatric evaluation earlier this year.

But the singer has made a successful comeback following the difficult period of her life and has filmed a 90 minute documentary earlier this year.

Earlier, Britney had admitted that her new lifestyle was "too controlled" and she felt like a "groundhog".

The singer is all set to release her sixth studio album 'Circus' to mark her comeback.
