Panaji, Nov 26 (PTI) Under fire from the film fraternity for deferring the screening of M F Husain's documentary, organisers of IFFI today said it will be shown at the current festival but did not specify any date. "Husain's film was just deferred that means it will be shown again," festival director S M Khan told reporters here.

He said that the documentary "Through the Eyes of a Painter" is actively associated with the festival but not the part of programming.

Khan, however, did not disclose the date and timing of the screening.

The screening of the documentary on November 25 was postponed following a letter of objection from Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

The group pointed out that over 1,000 cases are pending against the painter in the country and it would be unfair to screen his documentary for such an important event.

The 40-year-old documentary was the part of Film Division's 'Framing Time' section which is held on the sidelines of IFFI 2008.

Film makers participating in the festival had strongly condemned the decision to put off this rare documentary, which was shot during the painter's experience in Rajasthan.

On a lighter note, Khan said the documentary will now have to be shown at a bigger place as there will be more interest among people to see it.
