Los Angeles, Dec 15 (PTI) 'The Dark Knight', a sequel of the 'Batman' series and 'Milk', a biography of American politician Harvey Milk along with Brad Pitt-starrer 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' are the critics favourite for the 'Top 10 best films of 2008.' The awards by the American Film Institute (AFI), known for including popular movies that are often ignored by critics have some surprising omissions this year. Danny Boyle's acclaimed film 'Slumdog Millionaire', a rags-to-riches story of an Indian slumdweller, has failed to make it to the list because it's a foreign (UK) production, the 'Los Angeles Times' reported. Other films which were left out are 'The Reader', 'Doubt', 'Revolutionary Road', 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' and 'The Visitor.' The filmmakers will be honoured in a ceremony on January 9. Also on AFI's list, were the animated "Wall-E," Clint Eastwood's "Gran Torino," the superhero blockbuster "Iron Man," the indie dramas "Frozen River" and "Wendy and Lucy," the adapted play "Frost/Nixon," and the Brad Pitt epic "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." Apart from 'The Dark Knight', another comic book flick 'Iron Man' and one animated film 'Wall-E' have been included in the list.
