London, Dec 19 (PTI) Australian actor Hugh Jackman, who was recently named as 'Sexiest Man Alive' by 'People' magazine, had a tough time convincing his wife that he deserved the honour, the actor has revealed. Jackman beat other Hollywood hunks like Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Daniel Craig, to win the coveted honour this year. The magazine paid tribute to his multitude of talents as an actor, the 'Contactmusic' reported. Speaking at a press conference ahead of his new film with Nicole Kidman, the star revealed that his wife Deborra-Lee Furness was surprised at his triumph.
"The second was a genuine asking of the process, and how it's chosen. "Is it readers, is it votes, is the editors?' she asked. I said, 'I think it's the editors and a thinktank, and they get together, throw up photos and work out whose publicist they're on good terms with, and they decide!'" "And she said, 'So anyone could get it?' I replied that they could. And she said, 'And Brad Pitt didn't get it!," the actor said. Jackman's latest film is 'Australia' where he plays the character of a cattle drover. The Australian has starred opposite Nicole Kidman in the Baz Luhrmann's period drama.
