Run for your lives, its another disaster of a film! My god, I would not expect Boney Kapoor to be associated with such a bad film.

Run is the type of film which makes you really wonder if filmmakers think the audience are stupid to not know the end of the film. Ok, so we all know that films are predictable in this day and age, but if the content is entertaining, then there is no problem. There is nothing fun about Run.

We got Siddharth aka Sidhu (Abhishek Bachchan) coming from Allahbad to study in Delhi. He is living with his sister (Ayesha Jhulka) and brother-in-law (Mukesh Rishi). He meets Janvi (Bhumika Chawla) and its love at first sight for him. Janvi has a psychotic and demented brother, Ganpat (Mahesh Manjrekar). This guy will break bones, cut off limbs, and beat up any child, boy, or man to even look at his sister. The word overprotective is an understatement, this Ganpat guy is a freak!

So we have crazy brother find out that Sidhu had the audacity to fall in love with his sister. Goons are sent to beat up Sidhu but they all land up in the hospital. Now big brother is really mad because Janvi begins to fall in love with Sidhu too. Oh oh! What now crazy man? Sidhu is expelled from school (false accusation of some sort), his brother-in-law is fired, and his sister is run over by a truck (luckily she’s alive).

Now lover boy is mad and we got a final showdown between Sidhu and Ganpat. The deal is simple, whoever beats the other to a bloody pulp, walks away with Janvi. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out who wins. And that’s the end of that .

So now that I’ve saved your time, let’s get to the performances. Abhishek Bachchan keeps improving with every film. Kudos to him! Bhumika Chawla is mediocre in her second film. Mahesh Manjrekar truly is a villain and acts competently. The supporting roles are average. The comedy track with Vijay Raaz is childish and an attempt to make him look annoying like Johnny Lever.

Music by Himesh Reshammiya is tedious and boring. Tracks are repetitive and lyrics are typical Sameer. The flow of the film is broken with a song every 10 minutes.

The film direction by Jeeva is nothing special. The actors try their best to infuse life into a weak script and filmi dialogue we can all predict.

The lesson of the film is simple, no matter how overprotective you think you are, in the end, you will have to bow your head to love.

Recommendation: Watch the film if you are a die-hard Abhishek fan, if not, don’t bother!
