Abbas-Mustan are known to be "inspired" by Hollywood films, and this film reminds us of some english shows, but has its own original Bollywood touch.

Deven (Ajay Devgan), is a talented engineer. He builds a futuristic car and plans on selling his design. He approaches a company owned by the FOUR FOX (Pankaj Dheer, Shakti Kapoor, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, and Mukesh Tiwari). The Four Fox steal his design and kill Deven (in his own car); a corrupt cop is also involved.

Skip to 12 years later . . . Deven’s son, Raj (Vatsal Sethand) lives with his Dadi (Farida Jalal). He looks like an adorable Tobey Maguire (in Spiderman) in the initial reels. He may look nerdy, but he also fancies cars. He works part-time in a garage for Amrish Puri. Raj also falls for Priya (Ayesha Takia), the new girl in his college.

The plot is setup so that Raj finds the scraps to his father’s car. He wants to rebuild it to have a memory of his father, and so after hard work, he makes TAARZAN, a purple beauty. On a stormy night, Deven’s soul enters the car.

One by one, the wonder car goes to get revenge for Deven. However, since the car is doing the killing, the police think that Raj is doing the driving, even though he has an alibi for every murder.

Will the car kill only its culprits? How will Raj react? The remainder of the film answers these questions.

The film has many amusing moments, especially with Amrish Puri and his son. The star of the film is obviously TAARZAN. The car is truly worth watching on screen. However, despite this film having good performances by the leads, the film has some flaws. For instance, its hard to digest that a car can burn, be thrown off a cliff, be destroyed to bits and pieces and still be restored. Also, some people might be annoyed by the whole supernatural aspect of a ghost having a presence in the car in the form of Ajay Devgan. But if you overlook this and just watch the film as a family entertainer, you should not be disappointed by the final outcome.

Supporting characters such as Gulshan Grover and Farida Jalal are good. Rajpal Yadav has some funny lines (is he gonna be the new Johnny Lever? I hope not!). Music is hummable with “O Saajan” being nicely picturized. Direction by Abbas-Mustan is definitely different, but adequate.

Overall, watch it once, just for the sleek design of the car and/or if you are an Abbas-Mustan movie fan.
