After their misguided attempts at horror flicks (Kucch To Hai and Krishna Cottage), Shobha and Ekta Kapoor seem to have given up and decided to produce a film that, at first glance, appears to be more fun. The music here is definitely youth orientated and also worth a listen.

Anu Malik has maintained a link with the producers’ previous films by composing "Chaska". This song is definitely in the same mould as "Ding Dong" (Kucch To Hai) and "Bindas" (Krishna Cottage). The excellent Sunidhi Chauhan once again provides the female vocals but this time she is joined by ‘man-of-the-hour’,

Kunal Ganjawala. Sunidhi doesn’t hold back in the song and sounds like Shweta Shetty in portions, while Kunal’s anglicised pronunciations are a lot of fun. Stick with it and this song will soon have you reaching for the ‘repeat’ button.

"Jaago Na" is a clever blend of a very Indian tune, some brilliantly inventive arrangements and skilful singing. Sunidhi Chauhan, Sowmya Raoh and Gayatri Iyer give the song a slightly western touch making the number an enjoyable hybrid of east and west. Encore!

Another youthful number on the album goes by the unfortunate title of, "We Are So Different"! Thankfully, this is the only occurrence of badly phrased English you’ll here in the song. The rock’n’roll style makes for a foot-tapping rhythm and Malik’s tune is clearly ear-friendly. Sunidhi Chauhan,

Shaan and Kunal Ganjawala all do their jobs adequately but the result is sadly, quite average.

This soundtrack certainly benefits from the appearance of ´The Rishi Rich Project´. British chart topper, Jay Sean along with Juggy D and Veronica (remember "Hum Tum"?) collaborate to give us "Dil Mera (One Night)". This track is a Hindi/Punjabi/English mix that takes some getting used to but ends up being one of the highlights on the album! Listen out for the recurring sample from

"Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindagi Mein Aana" from the film Aashiqui.

It’s a shame the title track, "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum", is so ridiculous! The lyrics are trite and the melody (or lack of it) is totally forgettable. Kunal Ganjawala, K.K. and Anu Malik seem to put a lot of effort into the song but there is no saving this track from the ‘skip’ button. The remix version is no better.

Kyaa Kool Hai Hum is a fun, enjoyable album that delivers what it needs to. Go along for the ride and you won’t be disappointed.
