Vishal Shekhar-Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani are listed as the music directors on the inlay card for this flick, although Sandesh Shandilya has also composed two songs. After successes in Kaante and Jhankaar Beats, Vishal and Shekhar create Supari with Shandilya. The music is very contemporary and although not as good as Jhankaar Beats, shows off the creativity of Vishal and Shekhar as music directors that will stay in the industry for a long long while. Padam Kumar, the producer and director of the flick,  made his debut direction in

Champion. Supari seems a bit more intriguing than Champion, but we will see how it comes out.

“Tere Ishq Main” is a medium to fast paced number composed by Vishal & Shekhar, written by Vishal, and sung by Vishal and Mahalaxmi Iyer. The music is creative, though very Western. The singing of Mahalaxmi Iyer is classically based with the continuation of Western music. Vishal’s pop background shows up in the song, and his voice is very well suited for the song.

Vishal and Sunidhi Chauhan sing “Chand Chahiye,” which is the best song of the album. It’s a slow paced number. The lyrics are by Vishal-and he does a good job in this department as well as the singing. Vishal’s voice is very soothing, somewhat comparable to the quality of KK’s

voice. Sunidhi has a very high pitched part in the song, and she does a good job. The singing and the music is somewhat similar to AR Rahman’s style in Sapnay.

This time, Shekhar sings “Chhaha” with Sunidhi. The song is a bit above average, though nothing spectacular. Sunidhi does an excellent job singing Vishal’s lyrics. Shekhar has a short singing stint in this song, and he does an average job.

The next two Bombay songs are by Sandesh Shandilya.

“Bombay Bagiyan” is sung by Hariharan and Macrand Deshpande and has interesting lyrics by Macrand Deshpande. This song doesn’t have too much to say as far as the music, but the singing and the tune is pretty easy to listen to. The second Bombay song “Bombay Town” has lyrics by Javed Akhtar and singing by KK. KK does a good job, and this song is a treat to listen to.

Finally, Ek Saans has music by Vishal Shekhar and lyrics by Vishal. Sukhwinder Singh sings the song, but this song isn’t anything to talk about.

Overall, the album is a feather in the cap of Vishal and Shekhar as well as Shandilya. The music is different, yet still good. With the star cast of Uday Chopra, Nandita Das, Rahul Dev, and more, this film has the potential of doing a lot, and the potential of being a total disaster. Lets see what happens here.
