Director Priyadarshan returns to the silver screen with “Dhol – Kiska Bajega” (perhaps inspired by the "Dhol Bajne Laga” song from the Priyadarshan directed “Virasat”), which promises to be another feather in the cap for this talented director. What’s a year at the movies without a Priyadarshan comedy? Well, the wait is over as Priyadarshan brings us a movie about getting rich in the easiest manner possible! How’s that you ask? Why, just marry the rich girl! But wait a minute! Even the best laid plans, go astray and this movie promises many crazy twists and turns.
Judging from the trailer, this is going to be a rocking comedy. It starts off hilariously with the lead characters singing horribly off key in ear piercing screeches, and then moves onto a montage of hilarious pratfalls and schemes. Play that Dhol along with the movie as the jokes fly fast and furious. One girl (Tanushree Dutta) is the prize that four guys (Kunal Khemu, Rajpal Yadav, Sharman Joshi, and Tusshar Kapoor) are chasing. Priyadarshan is the real star here, as the director has gathered together a fresh cast that promises to amp up the comedy. What will be interesting to see is how Kunal Khemu ("Traffic Signal") will be able to handle his first comedic role. Sharman Joshi ("Life…in a Metro"), Rajpal Yadav ("Partner") and Tusshar Kapoor ("Shootout at Lokhandwala") have excelled with comedy in previous films.. As for Tanushree Dutta, does anyone expect her to bring anything other than glamour to the role? Different genres are blended together in this film that is a suspense thriller and murder mystery all rolled up in a comedic roti. Add Pritam’s zany music to the mix and you have the makings of a DHOL-TASTIC movie!
