Ram Gopal Varma returns to the silver screen with his next directorial feature. The director who is known for his offbeat sensibilities (not to mention heroines) goes back to his “Bhoot Bungalow” roots. It seems that Varma has a thing for ghost stories and romances, two combinations that are deadly when put together.
The movie is produced by T-Series magnates Kishan Kumar (who, himself has tried unsuccessfully to act in films) and Bhushan Kumar (who has taken his father’s company and turned it into one of the most successful music companies in India). It’s an interesting project for a music company like T-Series to invest in, as it seems to be a relatively low profile movie. BOO! Ahem, sorry, the preview is about a ghost so I thought I would add a few THRILLS AND CHILLS! BWAHAHAHAHA! The movie stars Fardeen Khan as the cheating, yet loving husband, Isha Koppikar as the sexy, yet forgiving wife, and Esha Deol as the crazy, yet endearing mistress. Nisha Kothari, who seems to be Ramu’s favor flav actress of the moment, makes a special ghostly appearance. Aditya (Fardeen Khan), seems to have a perfect life, as he is successful and has scored a beautiful wife that is the envy of all his friends; however, for reasons only known to him, he gets involved with a beautifully insane girl (Esha Deol) who becomes his mistress. Ah, this way lies madness and sure enough he has an “OOPS” moment as he get his mistress pregnant. Unbeknownst to his naïve and understanding wife, Aditya accidentally causes the death of his insane mistress. After breaking out in a sweat, he figures the best thing to do is dispose of the body and be done with her once and for all.
At this time, the preview was interrupted by a ghost in a white sheet howling as if the wind was screaming through the haunted soul of the writer. Ahem, looks like the Bhoots are in the bungalow. What will happen to Aditya? Will his wife find out that he is a cheating murderous liar and forgive him for a happy ending? Will Esha ever find satisfaction in the afterlife? I don’t know about you, but it’s scary to even think about it. Catch the movie, when it comes to a theater near you. Before this preview fades away into the afterlife, a special mention must be made regarding the music. Leave it to T-Series to bring together two of the top music directors today. Though Pritam composes the majority of the soundtrack, Himesh Reshammiya is roped in to compose one song that sounds awfully familiar. Come on Himesh, don’t be haunted by the ghosts of your old song…..let them pass on….. Darling by Ram Gopal Varma, be afraid…. be very, very afraid.
