After Sarfarosh, Jatin-Lalit
scores music for this relatively low budget, run-of-the-mill love story. The music
reflects exactly that. Though the music isn't bad in any way, its just slightly
above average.
The first song starts out softly and gets a bit
faster. "Yeh Dil Deewana Hai" turns out to be
the third best number of the album. Its sung by Kumar Sanu and
Anuradha Paudwal, who sound as run of the mill as the movie. All in all,
this song is just a little bit better than average.
The second song is the best of the album.
"Yeh Silsila Hai Pyar Ka" is sung by Alka
Yagnik and Kumar Sanu, though it is dominated and mostly sung by Alka. Alka
is tremendous-- she should be nominated for an award or two for this song. Sanu is
okay in the one paragraph he sings. The music is along the lines of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, DDLJ, etc...--it
has a typical J-L flavor, though it has some new touches here and there. It also
comes with intrumental and sad versions which are worth a listen also, though the sad
version is only twenty-five seconds.
The only other song worth mentioning in the album
is "Suno Suno Ladkiyon", sung by Amit Kumar.
Its a nice void from the normal... Amit isn't as wild as he can get in such songs
and sounds excellent. His voice isn't as impressive and dominant as it once was, but
its a nice change from the Udits and Sanus every once in a while.
Overall, this album is only a little bit better
than average, though it has its highlights. "Yeh Silsila Pyar Ka" should
climb up the charts quickly, the song is really beautiful. |
