Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Panipat’ is one of the most awaited movies. The director, who has helmed films like Lagaan, Swades and Jodhaa Akbar, is known to put a dream team together for all his projects that helps him smoothly transcends his creative vision to celluloid.

After roping in National Award winning art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai and National Award winning costume designer Neeta Lulla, Ashutosh collaborated with the most loved poet, also a national award winning lyricist -Javed Akhtar for this high octane period drama.

The makers are now in full swing preparing for its pre-production. Director Ashutosh Gowariker, lyricist Javed Akhtar and music directors Ajay-Atul jam together for the film leaving no stone unturned in its pre-production preparations. With these three legends coming together, our excitement for the film and it’s music have already reached a zenith.

Featuring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in pivotal roles, Panipat is based on the Third Battle of Panipat, which is one of the most epic battles in the history of India that took place on 14 January 1761 at Panipat. The battle was fought between the northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, supported by two Indian allies—the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab, and Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh.

The high-octane action period drama is produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar’s company  Vision World. The film is poised to release on December 6, 2019.
