Jassie Gill will be part of a revolutionary Twitter initiative known as #PowerOf18. The actor who has done his debut in Bollywood with ‘Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’.
The campaign highlights using the power of informative social media to bring a positive social and political change in our country. It focuses on Twitter’s role in civic management, participation in upcoming elections, responsible voting and youth activism in public debate.
In a recently conducted nationwide survey, it was evident that 69% Twitter users were more politically and socially aware citizens than 44% of non-Twitter users. It also affirmed the fact that 59% of Twitter users actively support social causes and join public conversations, thus shaping our society and culture.
Jassie Gill says, “I feel blessed to be a part of such a good initiative and be put on a responsible pedestal. #PowerOf18 urges Indian youth to be the change rather than just hoping for it to take place. Twitter allows them to be heard as an impactful voice of their own future.”
Other youth icons that can be seen representing this change along with Jassie Gill are Nikhat Zareen (Indian boxer) and Mahima Kukreja (writer, poet and #MeTooIndia voice), sharing their inspirational views in the online series.
