Daisy Shah has been roped in to play the lead in a Gujarati film, titled ‘Gujarat 11’. This will be her debut in the Gujarati film industry. Daisy was last seen in Salman Khan starrer ‘Race 3’ where one of her dialogue ‘Our business is our business, none of your business’ became a viral source of entertainment.
For her next film, the ‘Jai Ho’ actress will be seen working with Chalk and Duster director Jayant Gilatar. This is the first time the two will collaborate for a project.
Daisy along with Bollywood has also been a part of other regional cinema. She made her debut with a Tamil film ‘Vande Mataram’ and later made a powerful impact with her debut performance in the Kannada film ‘Bodyguard’. Daisy being a Gujarati herself showed a lot of excitement and enthusiasm on becoming a part of ‘Gujarat 11’. so much so that she was ready to sign the film just after 45mins of narration.
In ‘Gujarat 11’, Daisy will be seen enacting a football coach who builds a football team consisting of kids from juvenile homes and leads them to glory. The film will be shot in different parts of Mumbai and Gujarat.
The movie is directed by Jayant Gilatar. Jayant Gilatar has recently directed the critically acclaimed movies Chalk and Duster and Natsamrat (Gujarati remake). He also founded and established the production house ‘JJ Creations’ with his Marathi movie ‘Sadarakshanaay’ won over 9 awards including a Best Film Award. He also produced the Marathi film Rannbhoomi and won 4 awards for it.
The film is produced by Yash Shah and Jayant Gilatar and the music is given by Roopkumar Rathod and lyrics & dialogues is written by Dilip Rawal. The rest of the cast of the film is yet to be made official and the film is expected to go on floor by 11th of February 2019
