Kubbra Sait, who shot to fame with the most popular web series ever, Sacred Games, is set to surprise the audience and her fans with yet another influential character in her forthcoming series, The Verdict – State VS Nanavati.

Produced by ALTBalaji and directed by Shashant Shah, the web series will see Kubbra portraying a popular real-life character called Mamie Ahuja.

Kubbra who won huge appreciation for her character Cuckoo in Sacred Games and proved her acting prowess alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan is quite excited to be a part of this show that changed the judicial scene in the country forever.

“I play Mamie Ahuja who wants justice for her brother’s murder. For me, it’s not about revenge as much as it is the constant search and admission of justice. This is a period story and it shows how women have always known their mind, but were never allowed to speak it because of the patriarchal mindset. Just getting on set and watching Makarand Deshpande and Angad Bedi rattle off lines was just amazing,” Kubbra informs.

“Since I talk a lot, my biggest challenge was to conserve all my energy and keep it inside me and hone it and wait for a place to vent it out. When I met Shashank Shah, the director of the show, he asked me to calm myself down and make myself quieter. That was an interesting process for me. I also had to brush up on my Hindi,” she adds.
