Recreations are the order of the day. However, much before this fad of recreating old classics came around, composer Chirantan Bhatt had adapted Kanlyanji-Anandji’s classic track ‘Har Kisi Ko Nahin Milta’ from the 1986 Vinod Khanna – Dimple Kapadia – Sridevi starrer ‘Janbaaz’ and given it a new shape and soul for the Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Boss’ (2013). The song became a rage all over again and was discovered by youngsters, many of them who had not heard the original version.

Now, singer Ahir Bhowmick has revived the track by putting together a soulful, unplugged version of it on the internet. While the composition is the same, the arrangements are kept minimal what with only an acoustic guitar accompanying her voice. Ahir, who is a classically trained vocalist, has rendered the track exquisitely and made sure that its soul remains intact.

Talking about the cover version, she says, “I have always been a big fan of the original song as I grew up listening to it on a cassette player while I was growing up. It is one of those songs that is a favourite with the family. I loved the recreated version by Chirantan Bhatt too. I always wanted to pay a tribute to the track by singing it in my own style. I hope people like what I have tried to do with it.”

Ahir learnt classical music from her mother Smt. Gopa Bhowmick and Pandit Sanjeev Banerjee. She received her ‘talim’ from Ustad Manzoor Hussain Khan in Ghazal. The talented vocalist has performed in several shows in India and abroad with legends like Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali and has worked with artists of repute like Shaan, Shreya, KK, Babul Supriyo, Vinod Rathod and several others from the Indian music industry.
She has also released a couple of Bengali Albums and has lent her voice to several songs in Bollywood and Tollywood films like ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’, ‘Tom Dick & Harry’ and ‘Hatiyaar’.
