It has happened indeed! War, which was carrying great hype right from the time when it was announced, has more than lived up to the expectations. After a record breaking opening, it has now crossed further frontiers, what with an entry into the 300 Crore Club. This was always on the cards once the second week began and with no real competition whatsoever in the third week, the film has accomplished the milestone over the weekend itself.
On Sunday, the film collected around 5.50 crores more and that has pushed the overall collections to 301.75 crores. A triple century is indeed a matter of prestige and the Siddharth Anand directed film has now entered the record books. It has four more days to bring in more moolah till the arrival of Housefull 4 and it is expected that around 10 crores more would come in. Post that it would retain just a few screens and shows, and whatever numbers that come in from here would be added bonus.
War further reaffirms that Hrithik Roshan is a huge superstar who can strike with ease when he picks a character who is larger than life. Krrish series, Bang Bang and now War are a testimony of that. He is too good a superstar to be making lesser films and should be making more movies.
Also, with War, industry now has yet another major star in the form of Tiger Shroff who has fast grown to be a reliable youngster with an ever increasing fanbase that is envious to many. Just seven films and many hits later, Tiger is set to see a major opening with his next action biggie, Baaghi 3.
