He is the toast of the town. For years, he was known as that actor from ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ but last year, after delivering his first 100-crore hit with ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’, he is being chased by filmmakers and brands. His new film ‘Luka Chuppi’ is slated for a release this Friday. The film explores the seemingly urban concept of live-in relationships in small towns.
When asked how would his parents react if he decides to opt for a live-in relationship, the actor says, “My parents are quite modern, so I think they would be okay with the idea of me being in a live-in relationship. When I was younger, we had two landline phones at home. If my girlfriend or somebody I had a crush on called, my mother would pick up the phone at her room. So, I have been caught a lot of times but nothing major has happened.”
In his earlier films, he was credited as Kartik Tiwari. The actor explains the reason behind altering his screen name.
“Kartik Aaryan sounded better than Kartik Tiwari (laughs). Actually Aaryan was always my middle name. It is not something that happened suddenly. Before the release of my first film, I had asked the team to credit me as Kartik Aaryan but they missed out on doing so.”
