Director Dinesh S Yadav talks about his film ‘Waah Zindagi’ which is inspired from the Government’s Make In India initiative.
What is the plot of the film about?
Besides a quirky and an unconventional love story, ‘Waah Zindagi’ is a journey of a destitute farmer’s son struggling hard to become an entrepreneur to win his childhood sweet heart. His achievements are ravaged into failures by the mass dumping of Chinese products in the Indian Markets ruining all the Indian industries and businesses including his own. Devastated and dejected in love he gathers courage to fight and stand against China to redeem his love ending up in the Make In India initiative.
Is it inspired from PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Make In India’ initiative?
Yes, it is undoubtedly inspired from The Prime Minister, Mr Modi’s Make in India initiative.
Where did you get the basic idea from?
I got the idea from the rampant civil water wars and the downfall of Indian Ceramic Industry in 2007 by the introduction of Chinese tiles.
Was it difficult to put together an ensemble cast for the film?
It wasn’t that difficult to put together the ensemble cast but I’d rather say deciding on the actors best suiting the characters was a job.
Do you expect Government support since it is based on a Government initiative?
Yes definitely! My producer Mr. Ashok Choudhary is continuously trying to get in touch with Government officials. We have got some positive response from some people already. After all, the plot of the film revolves around his campaign to uplift the Indian economy.
What are you making next?
I have just completed writing two more scripts and started working on my third idea, all different genres and would soon be approaching prospective producers. Besides I’ve few offers for features to direct. Let’s see which one I end up making next.
