The event was graced by prominent figures from the industry, including Shri Sunil Barve, Convenor of Cine Talkies, Shri Vipul Amrutlal Shah, Acclaimed Producer and Patron of Cine Talkies 2024, and Smt. Bharati Pradhan, Senior Film Critic and Patron of Cine Talkies 2024. Arun Shekhar, Vice President of Sanskar Bharti Kokan Prant, kicked off the event, welcoming esteemed guests and media personnel, and providing a brief overview of Cine Talkies 2024.
The inauguration of Cine Talkies 2024 will take place on 13th December at 5:30 pm, in the gracious presence of Shri Ashish Chauhan, MD & CEO of NSE.
Shri Sunil Barve initiated the discussion, explaining the theme of Cine Talkies 2024, which seeks to connect Bharatiya Cinema with its roots and culture. He emphasized that the initiative is not just about entertainment but about using cinema as a tool for social awareness and mass education. Barve highlighted that while film festivals and award functions dominate the cinematic landscape, there has been no platform for in-depth academic, cultural, and economic discussions about Bharatiya Cinema. The goal of Cine Talkies 2024 is to nurture the roots of Indian cinema and encourage dialogues that drive the journey towards SWA (Swadeshi Awareness).
Shri Vipul Amrutlal Shah added that there is a pressing need for such platforms to facilitate conversations among stakeholders in the Bharatiya Cinema industry, helping filmmakers create content that resonates with the audience’s evolving preferences.
Shri Sunil Barve concluded the press conference by providing more details about the upcoming event and encouraging Mumbai-based filmmakers, students, and professionals to register and attend. All event details, including the schedule, are available on the official website at www.cinetalkies.in, with registrations now open.
The event’s Valedictory will feature Shri Ramesh Taurani as the Chief Guest, with a special drama on the life of Ahilyabai Holkar, celebrating her 300th birth anniversary, scheduled for the evening of 14th December.
