Audiences are eagerly waiting for the lockdown to be over and things to get back to normalcy. Of course, for a regular Indian, normalcy also means regular dose of Bollywood entertainment. With over 50 films in different stages of production, there are also new Bollywood jodis that are all set to enthrall audiences in time to come. Many stars and superstars are in fact taking the lead when it comes to doing multiple films in never-seen-before set up of new jodis. Let’s take a look.
Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur – Toofaan
A couple of years back, Farhan Akhtar was seen with Priyanka Chopra in The Sky Is Pink where they played a married couple. One waits to see if in Toofaan too he and Mrunal Thakur would be seen as a couple. Mrunal had already John Abraham’s wife in Batla House and in Jersey too she would be playing a married woman opposite Shahid Kapoor. This could well be a hat-trick for her.
Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar – Badhai Do
Rajkummar Rao has seldom seen the same leading lady opposite him, and one of the major reasons for that is that he doesn’t do conventional films. He has already been seen with new heroines in the recent times, case in point being Janhvi Kapoor, Nushrat Bharucham and Fatima Sana Sheikh. With Bhumi Pednekar, he would next be seen in Badhai Do.
Emraan Hashmi and Krystle D’Souza – Chehre
If things would have stayed as per plan, Emraan Hashmi would have had Kriti Kharbanda as his leading lady in Chehre. That would have been a new ‘jodi’ but instead, Krystle D’Souza has stepped in and now the duo would be bringing on some suspense, drama and intrigue in Chehre which is led by Amitabh Bachchan. Rest assured, this won’t be a conventional pairing.
Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria – Tadap
This is another first time ‘jodi’ to arrive in Bollywood and if the original source RX 100 is anything to go by, Tadap (tentative title) has a volatile love story between debutant Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria (Student of the Year 2, Marjaavaan) in the offering. Director Milan Luthria is known for his high decibel dramas and one waits to see how Ahan and Tara react to that.
Namashi Chakraborty and Amrin Qureshi – Bad Boy
Rajkumar Santoshi has brought Namashi Chakraborty and Amrin Qureshi together for Bad Boy which is a hardcore commercial entertainer in the offering. The duo has been quite excited about the film which is complete and had there been no lockdown, it would have geared up for a summer release last year. One now waits to see when does Bad Boy arrive in theaters.
Abhimanyu Dasani and Shirley Setia – Nikamma
Abhimanyu Dasani was last seen in Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota whereas Shirley Setia was seen Maska last year which was made for the OTT platform. Nikamma is a far more conventional entertainer for the two youngsters, what with Sabbir Khan at the helm of direction. The man who directed newbie Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon (Heropanti) is geared up already.
