The song Prithvi Manthan has received immense appreciation and love from the masses as it became the first song in India that is backed by the United Nations body. The song that has been sung by veteran singer Susmita Das has been conceptualised by her husband, Siddhanta Das, Indian Forest service officer has been winning people’s hearts and trended on Twitter on the eight position.

The duo, very interestingly infused the song with the Shiva Tandava stotram which makes the song aurally and visually powerful. Talking about the same, Susmita says, “My earlier song on women’s empowerment released on International Women’s Day was based on Durga Stotram and people appreciated and loved the song. I thought Shiv Tandav being so very intense and energetic could form basis of a song to generate awareness on environment”.

Siddhanta Das who has spent the last thirty-eight years in the climate change and pollution control sector says, “I spent my last 3 years of Service as Director General of Forests of the country and during this period I had the opportunity of working with UN agencies and major organizations involved in Conservation of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry. When I conceptualized the theme of Prithvi Manthan, I discussed with country heads of UNEP, IUCN, heads of BNHS, TERI, WTI and JLR. All of them were quite excited and expressed their desire to support the endeavour.”
