While gyms have been the preferred choice for most fitness enthusiasts for a long time, a lot of people are now turning to dance as a way to get in shape. While there are many dance based studios in Mumbai, Sneha Tharwani’s Tappin’ Around is one studio that has become very popular in the recent past.

The studio aims to strike a fine balance between teaching people the nuances of the dance form they have enrolled themselves to learn and achieving physical fitness. Based in Mumbai, the studio has clients, of different age groups, coming in from different parts of the city to dance and get fit in a fun way.

Talking about her studio, Sneha says, “I teach people to dance their way through a healthy lifestyle. Many people like to go to gyms but there is also a large group which finds the whole process of working out at a gym tedious and boring. If you enroll for my classes, you not only learn to dance but become fitter. Dance is a fabulous way to be physically fit and agile.”

Tappin’ Around offers a plethora of services and facilities that make it one of the most preferred and popular dance and fitness studios in the city. At the moment, it has more than 500 students and the number keeps growing with time. The studio has also hosted more than 300 events and organized a large number of informative workshops. Like every other business, the studio suffered due to Covid-19 and the lockdown that was enforced during the time but now, things are getting back to normal.

“The enthusiasm of the people who come here and their willingness to learn is what motivates me. Now, with things slowly opening up again, we are conducting regular classes with all the necessary precautions. When we started out, our Zumba classes were very popular. Now, the EDM vs BDM sessions, which I introduced sometime back, are getting a lot of love too. We take regular feedback from all our students and keep modifying and introducing new programmes from time to time”, she says.

Sneha has been in this profession for a decade and has seen a stable increase in people’s interest in dance over the years.

“The dance reality show boom definitely made a difference. The films we make are all about music and dance. We Indians have a good sense of rhythm and the love for dance was already there. Now, there is a desire to learn it properly and keep getting better at it. We have trained choreographers and trainers at our studio who make sure everybody gets equal attention and benefit from this course”, she says on a parting note.

With the kind of soaring success the studio has seen for itself and the kind of achievements it has had, one is sure Sneha will continue to scale new heights and continue to make a difference with her passion for her craft.
