Music plays an important role in a film which is touted to be an intense love story. Milap Zaveri’s new film ‘Marjaavaan’ is a revenge drama with Raghu (Sidharth Malhotra) and Zoya’s (Tara Sutaria) story taking centre-stage. One definitely expects good music in a film which is backed by Nikkhil Advani and Bhushan Kumar, two people in the business who surely has a good ear for music. Two songs (‘Tum Hi Aana’ and ‘Ek Toh Kum Zindagaani’) came out earlier, out which ‘Tum Hi Aana’ was an out-and-out intense romantic number. Both the songs climbed up the popularity charts quickly and now the third track “Thodi Jagah” has arrived.
Sung by Arijit Singh, “Thodi Jagah” is a love ballad seeped in melancholy that depicts Raghu’s state of mind as he languishes in prison and longs to see Zoya. In a way, this song encapsulates the pain and anguish that has come because of the relationship they share. The song has been put to tune by Tanishk Bagchi. The composition is simple and effective and compliments the visuals very well. The lyrics have been written by Rashmi Virag.
Like the earlier two tracks, “Thodi Si Jagah” has the potential to become immensely popular. There is still some time for the film to hit the screens and one expects a couple of more songs to hit the tube before one sees them as a part of the narrative in the theatre.
