Before she stepped into the world of movies with ‘Dangal’, Sanya Malhotra had participated in a dance reality show on television. Sanya, who has trained in various forms of dance like ballet and contemporary, has been very passionate about dance ever since she was a child. Though she choreographed a song (“Sexy Baliye”) and made Aamir Khan dance to her moves in ‘Secret Superstar’, she never really got an opportunity to perform to a dance number herself.

That finally changed with ‘Morni’, a celebration number from her new film where she got to shake a leg and give her fans a glimpse of her dancing prowess. The song, composed by Tanishk Bagchi and written by MellowD, has become quite popular.

“I was very excited to dance to this song as it has been sung by Guru Randhawa, whom I am a big fan of. The song is a contemporary version of a popular song. I have been getting some great feedback on social media ever since it came out. It is my first dance number in a film, so it will always be very special to me.”

Though ‘Badhaai Ho’ is Sanya’s first film with Ayushmaan, the two of them had worked together in an ad four years back.

“The ad had come out a long time back and I had a very tiny role in it. I was pretty sure that Ayushmann would not have any memory of it but when I met him for the first time, he promptly reminded me about it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he remembered it.”
