There was a time when Kajol used to do four films in a year. Now, she is seen in a film once in four years. Of course, the actress who made her debut in Rahul Rawails’ ‘Bekhudi’ in 1992, has played a wide variety of roles in her sixteen year long career and is not at a stage in her career where she has to prove her talent to anybody. She has already done that and gone beyond that. Kajol will soon be seen playing mother to   teenager in director Pradeep Sarkar’s ‘Helicopter Eela’, which has been co-produced by her husband, actor Ajay Devgn.

When asked if she took any interest in the production aspect of the film since it was a home production, she says, “Not at all. Acting is such a consuming job. I did not want to take up any additional responsibilities. Ajay was the producer of the film and I happily let him handle his job on his own.”

Though she has been very selective in taking up projects from the time she got married, she did have three releases (‘My Name Is Khan’, ‘We Are Family’ and ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’) in the year 2010. While the first two were co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’ was a live animation film in which she had shared the screen with Ajay.

“That was a rarity. I want to spend quality time with my kids. I would continue to work but cannot be shuffling between multiple films at this stage in my life. You will never see me doing three films in a year again (laughs).”
