Every day a lot of people come to Mumbai dreaming to become\nactors in the Hindi film industry and only a handful of them get to realise\nthis dream. Vikas Shrivastav was once such person. The actor, who grew up in\nSultanpur a small town in Uttar Pradesh, arrived in the city of dreams in 1999.\nAfter working and training himself extensively for several years, it was for\nhim to try his luck in films. The twenty year old journey has not been easy but\nenriching nonetheless. After bagging his first film ‘Gangaajal’ in 2003′, the\nactor went on to feature in a series of popular films like ‘Gabbar Is Back’,\n‘The Dirty Picture’, ‘Talaash The Hunt Begins’, ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Special 26’. He is\nalso the first Indian actor after Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri and Irrfan Khan to\nmake inroads in Hollywood. The actor has worked with A-list Hollywood actors\nlike Stephen Lang of Avatar fame and X-Man\u2019s villain Vinnie Jones in \u2018The\nGandhi Murder\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The versatile actor is currently in the news for his\nportrayal of Nathuram Godse in the controversial film ‘The Gandhi Murders’. The\nfilm, which also marks the late Om Puri’s last outing on the big screen,\nreleases on 30th January in several countries other than India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Talking about the same, the actor says, “I am happy\nabout the fact that the film is finally releasing in theatres. I am also a\nlittle disappointed that people In India will not get to see it at the moment.\nWe spent a year fighting a battle with the Censor Board. Sixteen years after\nthe murder of Mahatma Gandhi, a committee was set up which presented a report\nstating that the police and politicians knew about the fact that Godse had\nplanned to murder Gandhi. Despite knowing about it, they did not prevent his\nmurder. There was definitely a conspiracy behind his death. We have tried to\ntell a story in the most honest manner. Hope the film releases in India\nsoon.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The actor has his hands full with a bunch of interesting\nfilms which will be releasing soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
