Director Hans Petter Moland has left writer Frank Baldwin\nimpressed with his working style. The two worked together in Moland\u2019s Cold\nPursuit, which is a remake of his 2014 Norwegian film In Order Of\nDisappearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe’s a wonderful director and he shoots beautifully and\nhe’s great with actors. So, every step of the way, I knew that whatever script\nI turned in would be in great hands and that he would preserve his essential\nvision of the movie while being open to anything that would enhance that in a\ndifferent version,\u201d says Baldwin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The writer adds that a lot of new elements have been added\nin the film. \u201cHans was very open from the start about making it a different movie\nwhile keeping the spine of the original of trying different things. He didn’t\nwant to simply shoot the same movie again in America. He wanted it to have an\nAmerican feel and to make sure that Denver and Colorado worked in their own\nway. The movie wasn’t simply just a retelling of the original but had its own\nsense of style and locale. And also, with the characters, the spine of the\nstory remains the same, we can have fun with the gangsters in different ways\nthan they did with the original and we can play around a little bit with the\nco-relationship between Nels and his wife and Nels and his son. It didn’t have\nto be letter to letter true to the original. So, it was about preserving the\nspirit and spine in the original but doing it in a fresh way. In a way that\nwould make it feel like a different movie,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
