For the second time this year, Kumar Sanu has shined in a Jatin-Lalit album!  Sanu has only one song, but the song shines.  The music is an added benefactor, as well as the lyrics.  "Jab Kisiki Taraf Dil" is sung by Sanu and has brilliant music by Jatin-Lalit.  Although this music is nothing overdone or overly creative, a simple mix of instruments brings this song to its height.   The lyrics are a splendidly done by Vinoo Mahendra.  This is the only song with Vinoo's lyrics.

The next song, "Ajnabi Mujhko Itna Bata", sung by Asha and Udit, has many derivatives from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge's "Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Main" and "Na Jaane Mere Dil Ko Kya" and even a bit of Khiladi's "Waada Raha Sanam", but it doesn't stand up to the height of those songs.

The next Asha-Udit song, "Aashiq Hoon Main" has a foot-tapping beat, but Jatin-Lalit are trying too much with their singing, as also witnessed with the odd vibrato of "Sath Jo Tera Mil Gaya" in Ghulam.  Asha is definitely more suiting to the vibrato than Alka Yagnik.  But the song still sounds like a bad copy of a 70's Pancham number.

Another J-L marriage song.  Soon, one of those cassette companies will release a "Jatin-Lalit Marriage Songs" album.  "Aaj Hai Sagaai".  The song takes some from "Mendhi Laga Ke Rakhna" from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and "Chal Pyar Karegi" from Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai.  It is sung brilliantly by Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik.

"Jo Hona Hai" is pretty much typical run of the mill Jatin-Lalit, though there is a bit of odd wacky music, including a little Macarena fling in the middle.  A bunch of singers sing this song.

The final song of the album "Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha" is also pretty much run of the mill J-L.  This song is marginally better than average.  Remo Fernandes and Jaspinder Narula sing this final song, Remo and Jaspinder both impress with their variety of vocals, although Remo's pronunciations of the Hindi is quite bad.  Jaspinder fares quite well with her singing and language pronunciations.  This song grew on me with time.   The first listen it was okay, second better, and third one of the best of the album.

Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha isn't an outstanding album in any way.  It is marginally better than Jatin-Lalit's last venture, Ghulam, but nothing compared to the standard Jatin-Lalit set with their first five albums, Yaara Dildara, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Khiladi, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and several albums after that, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Khamoshi:  The Musical, Fareb, Yes Boss, and, their latest big hit, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai.
