With the Hindu fasting days of `Nav-Durga`, deciding to join the Muslim fasting month of `Ramzan`, along with `Pitrapaksha`, the lean period gets leaner! All the same the week will see three new releases in the form of Sunil Doshi`s `Hulla`, living legend Shyam Benegal`s `Welcome To Sajjanpur` and Shona Urvashi`s `Saas Bahu Aur Sensex`. None of the three are expected to make a mark, except may be `Hulla` And that too because of producer Doshi`s trademark shoestring budget extended sitcom. `Welcome To Sajjanpur` does look interesting but the publicity has left a lot to be desired, and will reflect on its performance. The last release of the week, `Saas Bahu Aur Sensex`has little or no chances at the ticket window

 1920  Verdict: Awaited
Weekly Earnings: -  Total Earnings: -
Director: Vikram Bhatt  Producer: Surendar Sharma, Amita Bishnoi, Bhawanti Gabrani
 Music: Adnan Sami  Lyrics: Sameer
 Starring: Rajneesh Duggal, Adah Sharma
 Genre: Thriller  Recommended Audience: General
Released at around 80 cinemas of Bombay city and suburbs by Big Pictures, the 6.5 crore `1920` had a fair start. Outside of Bombay the opening ranged from average to fair at many places and was also good at some centres. The film is expected to succeed and turn out to be the comeback vehicle of director Vikram Bhatt.

 The Last Lear  Verdict: Awaited
Weekly Earnings: -  Total Earnings: -
PB Rating: 5.0 out of 10  Public Rating (by 410 unique users): 5.11
Director: Rituparno Ghosh  Producer: Arindam Chauduri (Planman Motion Pictures)
 Music:  Lyrics:
Starring: Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Shefali Shah, Preity Zinta, Divya Dutta, Jishu Sengupta, Prosenjit
Genre: Art-Film  Recommended Audience: Parental Guidance
Rituparno Ghosh`s Amitabh, Preity, Arjun and Shefali starrer, `The Last Lear`, had a limited release (thru PVR Pictures Ltd) at 25 cinemas of Bombay city and suburbs. The opening in Bombay was dull and was the same almost everywhere but good at select multiplexes. Not much is expected from the movie commercially. At the most the film may attract a small fraction of the class audience in some cities.

 Ru-Ba-Ru  Verdict: Flop
Weekly Earnings: -  Total Earnings: -
The third release of the week, Percept Picture Company and Zee Motion Pictures` `Ru-Ba-Ru`, had a poor to weak start and is expected to have a disastrous fate at the ticket window.

 A Wednesday  Verdict: Awaited
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 3.35 crores  Total Earnings: India Rs. 3.35 crores
PB Rating: 9.0 out of 10  Public Rating (by 410 unique users): 5.11

Music: Sanjoy Chowdhary  Lyrics: Irshad Kamil
Starring: Naseeruddhin Shah, Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill, Aamir Bashir, Deepal Shaw, Gaurav Kapoor, Chetan Pandit
Genre: Thriller  Recommended Audience: Parental Guidance
Neeraj Pandey`s very topical Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher starrer, `A Wednesday`, managed quite decent collections in its opening week. And that augurs well for filmmakers ready to experiment with hard-hitting cinema. The film will definitely be a reasonable earner for all concerned.

 Phoonk  Verdict: Hit plus
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 0.90 crores  Total Earnings: India Rs. 10.15 crores
Ramgopal Varma`s 3 crore `Phoonk` is on its way out, but it has already achieved more success than what the makers must have bargained for!

Genre: Romantic  Recommended Audience: Parental Guidance
Yash Raj`s Bipasha, Ranbir, Deepika and Minissha starrer, the 19 crore `Bachna Ae Haseeno`, saw the first major fall in its collections. What is important to note is that the collections are consistent from across India. It is YRF"s first major hit since `Chak De India`. Apart from India the film has also performed quite well in the Overseas.

 Singh is Kinng  Verdict: Super-hit
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 1.55 crores  Total Earnings: India Rs. 74.25 crores ; UK£1,341,118 ; US$$2,159,376
